Thanks to the revamped engine and transmission package, the 2010 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is the most powerful production Mustang ever. New gearbox enhancements, plus a standard 3.55:1 rear axle ratio, decreased drag, and increased downforce mean the new Shelby GT500 delivers improved acceleration, while providing 2 mpg of additional highway fuel efficiency. The supercharged and intercooled 540 horsepower 5.4L V8 engine, featuring dual overhead cams, reaches the red line at 6,250 rpm. An upgraded six-speed manual transmission also yields higher performance rates. In addition, revised gear ratios ensure that the 2010 Shelby GT500 turns lower engine RPMs and delivers improved acceleration in the lower gears.
You'll also enjoy a remodeled interior, in which the engineers specifically paid extra close attention to diminishing cabin noise. Some convenient standard features that you'll find on the interior include, but are not limited to, leather 6-way powered sport bucket seats, power windows and door locks, cruise control, active and passive anti-theft systems, climate control, a rear window defroster, and a locking center storage console.
